Historically, golf has been a white male dominated sport. Then came Woods. Tiger, Tiger Woods ya’ll. Tiger Woods is one of the most successful golfers of all time and one of the highest paid athletes. Well, apparently, there’s something in the Woods bloodline that produces golf greatness because Tiger Woods has a niece who also kicks ass in golf and her name is Cheyenne Woods.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, 25 year old Cheyenne is the daughter of Tiger’s half-brother, Earl Woods Jr. Her first golf coach was her grandfather, Earl, who is Tiger’s father. So, Cheyenne is not new to the golfing game. Playing golf in college, she has won numerous championships and over 30 amateur tournaments thus far.

In 2012, Woods turned professional upon college graduation.  That same year, she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open. In 2014, she played on the LPGA Tour, making her the 6th African American to play on this tour. An African American woman has never won, so her being a part of the tour is still kinda-sorta-a-big-deal.

Cheyenne may still be early on in her professional career, but her future is looking quite bright. MMR! will definitely keep her on the radar…
